Spring Cleaning Giveaway Hop

We’re participating in the Spring Cleaning Giveaway Hop and starting our giveaway one day early. Be sure to check out all of the great book giveaways in this fun giveaway hop!

crowded bookshelf

Despite all of the giveaways we host, books still seem to gather and mingle on my bookshelves. I guess they know this is a safe, warm, cozy place for them to live. Just call me the book rescue lady. This giveaway hop gives me a good reason to find a few of them new homes where they’ll be loved and cherished – their forever homes.

This time we’re featuring three really wonderful books that one lucky reader will win! All of them are special, and all of them are books I had decided to keep but have since reluctantly decided to set free.

Dragons at Crumbling Castle

Giveaway Book #1 is a very recent one I had planned to keep. We just completed a giveaway for a finished hardcover copy I was sent; however, if you didn’t win Dragons at Crumbling Castle by Sir Terry Pratchett the first time then you’ve got another crack at it! This time the book being offered is my ARC (advance readers copy)! Whoot!

Sir Terry, one of my favorite authors, passed away shortly after we featured this giveaway and that’s what made me decide to include this lovely book of short stories in our giveaway. You’d probably think that would make me hold fast to it forever, but I decided it needs to be shared instead.

Dragons at Crumbling Castle contains 14 whimsical, fantasy short stories Sir Terry says in his introduction were written by a “naïve young lad.” They are suitable for young readers as well as those of us posing as adults. To read my complete review of Dragons at Crumbling Castle, click here. (No worries, the page will open as a new window so you won’t be redirected from this one).

Zenn Scarlett

Giveaway Book #2 is a finished trade paperback copy of Zenn Scarlett by Christian Schoon. It’s the first book in a YA sci-fi series that takes place on a near-future Mars. We’ve reviewed both books in this series and I loved both of them. The series features a seventeen-year-old exotic alien life form veterinarian intern who’s on a mission to find her father, who disappears. To read my complete review of Zenn Scarlett, click here. (Again, no worries, a new window will pop up, etc.) Please note: Although the publisher, Strange Chemistry, is sadly no longer in existence, both books are still available online at a great price so you can read the series’ second book after you finish this one.

The Severed Tower

Giveaway Book #3 is a finished hardcover copy of The Severed Tower, a Conquered Earth novel by J. Barton Mitchell. This is the second book in the Conquered Earth dystopian sci-fi trilogy. Midnight City, the first book, and the third book are also available online at great prices. This series has been called Lord of the Flies meets War of the Worlds. It’s a world where only teens and children have survived (and only until they reach a certain age), and the concept is fascinating! It kept me on the edge of my seat and craving more. Click here to read my complete review of Midnight City and here to read my complete review of The Severed Tower. (Both reviews will open as separate windows so you won’t be taken away from this giveaway page.)

Please note: Even if you see giveaways on some of the review page links above, those giveaways are long over and you must enter this giveaway to win anything!

All three books may have been written for young and YA readers; however, they will be equally enjoyed by adult readers. I had originally put all three on my personal bookshelves; however, I’m running out of room AGAIN and I’ve no more wall space to sacrifice to the book gods. My lack of bookshelf space = your gain! WooHoo!

Giveaway Rules:
1) The deadline for entries is Wednesday night, 3/25/2015, at 11:59pm EDST. No entries after that date/time will be eligible.

OMG I’m so excited to see Dragons at Crumling Castle on your giveaway! I read the start of it, first few stories but it archived so I couldn’t finish it. And I love Terry Pratchett so much, I’m so sad he’s gone..

Thank you for a great giveaway! I’m participating too if you want to stop by and enter 😉
